Massif Central – France Multiday Easy WW trips in Open Canoes

Expressions of interest in joining us on this year`s trip.

Dates: 24th May to 1st June 2024.

The drive down is usually overnight from Friday to Saturday but you will be free to travel how and when you like as soon as we all meet up at the campsite on Saturday 24th May.

The exact rivers and sections will be decided once we know who is going.  A Grand Tour of French gorges and easy WW rivers of central France – The best include the Gorge du Tarn, the Ardèche Gorge and the Allier Gorge.  These are all fantastic rivers in the Central Massif and are described in the fluffy guide.

The trip will include paddling on easy WW grade 1-2 (3-) rivers. Although we will be on riverside municipal campsites we intend to do several multiday trips so you will need to take a tent, food, sleeping bag etc in your boat.

Club equipment including opens can be borrowed from the club by using the booking list. You will need to transport your open canoe and people down to the start of each river and we will shuttle the cars from there. You can paddle tandem (pairs) or solo. All the dates and starting locations will be circulated to those interested.
