Minutes
of the Liverpool Canoe Club
Annual
General Meeting held via ZOOM 19/10/2020
Welcome from the
chair & review of the year
Fiona
Barry (FB) was unable to attend and her welcome speech
and review of the year was given on her behalf by Club Secretary Carole Thomas.
Fiona was wished a speedy recovery.
With
Covid restrictions from March onwards, club activities were cancelled and
curtailed, but when possible activities took place,
including Zoom Meetings and Talks. Covid restrictions and regulations were
fully observed and adhered too. The organised dock sessions were extremely
popular and were full as soon as posted, this would not have been possible
without the many enthusiastic volunteers and the club says a big Thank you.
With
sorrow this year we lost two valued club members, John Pegram and Alastair Randall.
The
LCC Promotional video, was shown and can be viewed at any time on the club
website.

New
boats and equipment have been purchased, and some income was also generated by
the sale of older boats.
Membership
is still very healthy LCC being one of the largest multidiscipline clubs in the
country.
4.Brief reports from
each discipline (2 minutes each)
Sea
Kayaking
summary by Ian Bell: Started
well but then many trips had to be cancelled due to the Covid pandemic, including the Anglesey
weekends, which were missed as transition paddles from Docks to Sea. Alaska was
replaced with a successful trip to Skye. Small group Local paddles on the
Mersey and Hilbre Island
were carried out when
regulations allowed .
White
Water
summary by John Cooke: Majority
of trips had to be cancelled, but a successful Annual trip to the Alps went ahead in a
window of relaxed restrictions. Chester Weir became a popular local venue to
visit when allowed. Hoping for some day trips when regulations allow.
Volunteers always needed to help with WW trips.
Open
Boats
