Sarah Hooper is a full time outdoor education instructor at Water Park Lakeland Adventure centre, based on the shores of Coniston, The Lake District.

When I was awarded a grant from the Winston Churchill Memorial Trust in order to visit Canada and pursue wilderness canoeing I never dreamed I’d be part of a team heading out on an exploratory journey above the Arctic Circle. One of the main motivations for my trip was to experience true remote wilderness canoeing and I certainly wasn’t disappointed.
