The river Dee Bangor on Dee to Farndon by Caroline James. A lovely sunny March paddle from Bangor on Dee to Farndon. Carl, Kevin, Keith and myself met at 09.30 by Farndon bridge to shuttle cars to our start at Bangor on Dee for our relaxed paddle along the twisty River Dee back to Farndon. We launched our boats (2 sea kayaks, a Canadian and a GP boat) by The… Read More »The river Dee Bangor on Dee to Farndon by Caroline James

With a Liverpool high water of 11:17 @ 9.22m, that gave a local high-water time between Southport and Formby of about 11am. The plan was to head south, keeping close to the land for some protection from… Read More »A local sea paddle.

A person kayaking in a river Description automatically generated with low confidence

Thanks, Stuart, for organising & all the paddlers for a fab day on the River Leven at a good level after the rain overnight. Safe to say everyone had a great time, enjoying the 5km classic stretch down from Newby Bridge to Haverthwaite, with the excitement of Backbarrow falls en-route as well as plenty of other rapids and play waves. Perfect way to spend a Sunday with very changeable weather… Read More »River Leven Paddle – Sunday 6th February

May be an image of 2 people, body of water and nature

In what is a fast becoming a staple Christmas time paddle, several open boaters and two safety kayakers headed up to paddle the lovely river Eden. When I first started to paddle, the agreement for paddling the Eden was a bit of a faff. One of the excuses for the agreement was that by following the agreement, and booking in, you were not going to be (accidently?) shot. Thankfully things… Read More »Opens in the Garden of Eden by Mike and Ruth Alter
