Ullswater SUP two-day trip by John Fay

We set off from the south of the lake with loaded SUP’s with a strong wind against us. After two hours we arrived at the campsite.

The camp was set up after which we got back onto the lake to battle with the wind now in our faces. After a little while and a few dips we gave up in favour of a group swim.

The next day we set off back to the cars, this time with no wind behind to assist us. Six hours later we arrived back to our starting spot. The wind was against us all the way back and it was a very tired but exhilarated group that landed on the beach.

It was a great trip. Lots of paddling. Lots of laughter with a wonderful group of people and even three fly-by’s from the RAF.

Thanks to Dave Hendry for arranging from the group:-

Marty, Dorin, Diane, Victor, John and Cameron.
