Club Come and Try it Day on Sunday 23rd April
Thank you to all those that attended to either help or take part in the fun events. Go Kayaking were there with their demonstration fleet of kayaks and canoes. The Silver Birch solo canoe and Ranger Canoe (with a Skeg) gave rise to some considered discussion. They also had a range of river and sea kayaks for members to try.
It was good to see so many people out on the water and some of the newcomers did 2 or 3 sessions and spent 2.5 hours on the water.
Towards the end of the session, we had the traditional rolling competition which was enjoyed by all those watching. The idea was to complete as many full 360-degree rotations in 20 seconds. A wide variety of rolls, paddles and crafts were used.
