19/01/2025 Cemaes Bay to Amlwch (21Km) by Catriona H
Winds southerly, F3/F4, high tide 14:00hrs. Departure time 10:15
We met up at Bangor Services to agree on the trip plan. We agreed to start from Cemaes on the north coast and travel east with the tide as far as we wanted to. This proved to be a little harder work than anticipated, the wind was coming from the east and in our faces, and we found quite a few back eddies to paddle against.
The tides were running quite quickly past the small headlands along this stretch providing some variety to the sea conditions. We stopped at Bull Bay for lunch, before paddling with the last of the flooding tide to Amlwch.

We were in for a bonus as the grey skies finally vanished, and the week winter sunshine arrived to provide us with much-needed warmth on a quicker return paddle and increase our enthusiasm for taking photos.
