Liverpool Canoe Club – Festive Christmas Paddle & Meal
The Liverpool Canoe Club enjoyed a brilliant Festive Christmas Paddle at the Albert Docks, with plenty of Christmas spirit on display. The docks came alive with decorated kayaks covered in tinsel, fairy lights, and Santa hats, bringing colour and cheer to a crisp December day. After the paddle, everyone headed to the Anchor Bar at the Marina for a warm, friendly Christmas meal to round off the day perfectly.

🎄 The Albert Dock Christmas Paddle 🎄
At the Albert Dock on a winter’s morn,
Liverpool Canoe Club gathered, festive and warm.
Kayaks glittered with tinsel, hats red and bright,
A sparkling parade on the water—such a joyful sight.
Lorna and Zoe set off with cheer,
Sam and Kevin paddled near.
Tony and Dawn, with Mel and Lisa,
Glided smoothly—no rush, no hurry, no fuss-ah!
Marty and John, Sarah and Keith,
Paul brought laughter from up the fleet.

Then from the marina more friends appeared,
Cornelia and Anne with Christmas gear.
Anthony and Dave, Jacqueline too,
John and Terence in the growing crew.
Mandy and Marcus, Andrew beside,
Diane and Mick joined the festive tide.
Gavin and John kept spirits high,
As Dominic and Sue paddled gently by.
Colin closed the line with a grin so wide—
A perfect end to the colourful ride.
When paddles were hung, and boats put away,
The Anchor Bar welcomed the group from the bay.
Warm meals, bright lights, and stories to share—
Christmas was truly already there.
So here’s to the club, all merry and able,
For bringing such joy to the docks and the table.
A festive tradition we’re glad to keep—
Till next year’s paddle across waters deep.
