Sea kayak trip 28/12/24 – the Ormes by Ella B

Five of us met for a final paddle of the year on the North Shore of Llandudno beach with a plan to take a leisurely paddle around both the Ormes. Despite the predicted wintery weather, soon after we set off the sun came out and we all discovered we were soon much too hot in the many layers we had worn.

We first paddled around Little Orme before turning back on ourselves and paddling onto the Great Orme. We paddled around the limestone cliffs before finding a rocky bay to stop for a quick lunch break. After lunch, we headed back to North Shore Beach and enjoyed the company of many interested seals who came close to investigate us. The combination of sun, sea and seals made for a perfect final paddle of 2024!
