Junior Whitewater Development and Holiday Week – France 2026 Day 03

2026 07 28 Junior WW Development Day 03

A smaller group got on the river this morning. It was a great chance for me to focus on practising some ferry gliding and breaking in and out of the flow. There was lots of time for this, with great support from John and Keith. We went down the river, some of us playing below the bridge. Then bounced down the last part. We had time for more braking in and ferry gliding at the bottom, with some excellent tailies through the eddy line from Clara and Keith. Then we had a bit of rolling practise before carrying our kayaks up to the bridge. We jumped in above the bridge today to practise our defensive swimming down the course. A great morning, thanks all!

Water Park Fun!

Josh surfing at the water park

I really liked trying to dive in because it was really deep. The slide was slow at first, and then it got faster.

Jack (Age 11)

I liked jumping in and having a race with Arthur. And I liked dunking my dad and Mark. I did lots of jumping in and jumping with Carol and Amy; they were throwing me. It was fun.
Lottie (Age 4)

So there was a big slide, a red one. And like surfing on this machine as well. And a big pool, and it was an actual water park.
Albert (Age 5)

When we were doing the bike ride to the water park, it was really hot, but the views were really nice, and it took like 20 minutes. There were cornfields and solar panels on the way. We were near a road and near the river, and then there was like a little train track there too. The water park was really good, and there was like this huge red slide. It was a bit hot too; the temperature said 41 when we were leaving. The pool was quite deep. We were diving in the pool too.
