Then we headed along the next dock, practising 360 turns on the way and stopping our kayaks.  There was a long run of… Read More »Last Junior Docks Session Sept 2024

It was all going so well, we hunkered down in the storm-force winds, when a shout for help from Dave followed a tent pole snapping. Anglesey Weekend No.4 Sandy Bay to Ynys Y Fydlyn by Catriona Hare As Ian could not arrive till Saturday morning, I was responsible for deciding which trip our group would run. Both the met office and XC weather had been forecasting ENE and NE winds of force 4 gusting 6 for several days so the planning group agreed the trips needed to be on the sheltered west of Anglesey. Several options… Read More »Anglesey Weekend No.4 Sandy Bay to Ynys Y Fydlyn by Catriona Hare

Standup Paddleboarding session Thursday 19th August

  • by

Standup Paddleboarding session Thursday 19th August The evening turned into a fantastic clear sky as the clouds melted away. Zoe had brought down three large rubber ducks for us to practise our step-back turns and spins. No ducks were harmed during this process and all returned in the dark (with head torches) as the sun set perfectly in the West.

So after many trips to the docks under Kevin’s wing from paddle start to paddle fit, then jumping on a few of Eamon’s and Roger’s slower fitness sessions and of course John Fay’s and Jim Duffy’s fun dock paddles I joined the Anglesey weekend paddle for my first sea trip and it was fantastic.
