Docks Leader Training Course (Home waters)

Last Tuesday, we held a Home Waters training course with 11 potential club leaders looking at:

• How the club uses the compound and equipment (procedures).
• Towing different boats (you will be required to tow one or more boats to an area in the docks).
• Rescue of the various craft used in a general, mixed fleet paddle.
• Group control and leadership.
• Discussion of possible emergencies and scenarios.

As a result, several new leaders were signed off to run sessions in our home waters at Liverpool South Docks

If you are interested in volunteering for the club, contact website@liverpoolcanoeclub.co.uk with a brief outline of your paddling experience and how you want to help out – eg help with dock sessions, help with the admin of the club, lead groups on the sea or rivers.

There are also two upcoming, more general rescue sessions:
