Expressions of interest requested. Please do not book anything until your place is confirmed and details of campsites etc are sent directly to you, as they could change. Please indicate if you would like to share transport out, and I will put you in contact with other individuals travelling out.
Most come out for both weeks, but you can come out for Week 1 or Week 2 if you are limited on time.
2026 will again see us stop off on route at the WW course near Lyon, stay for most of the trip at Camping Les Ecrins site and then stop off at a new WW course on the way back. This approach breaks up the journey both on the way out and back.
Please contact me first to confirm a place and to receive itinerary details so that you can book places on the campsite(s). This normally is only done on the 1st January 2026

We normally stay at the French White Water Course Campsite (Camping Les Ecrins). The campsite is right next to the river Durance and has all the facilities you need, including a lake and a whitewater course. It is situated in the heart of the Ecrin Mountains near Briancon. We run trips daily for Grade 2(3) and 3/4+, so it is ideal for all river paddlers. There are also many other activities locally, warm lakes for swimming, walking and cycling, etc.
This trip is the ideal place to learn to paddle WW rivers, provided you have the basics of paddling and are willing to learn. Please email the coordinator to discuss further if you are unsure if it will be a suitable holiday for you or your family.

Activities
The Towns of Embrun and Briancon have many shops, children’s activities (Sailing, sailboarding, swimming, rock climbing, ropes courses, museums and historic sites). The region is a winter ski area, and the valleys and mountains of the Ecrin surround the rivers. Families and club members are most welcome to join us. In 2025, we paddled, surfed, mountain biked, went horse riding, glacier walking, Via Ferrata, went shopping and sightseeing.

Most people travel out on Friday evening after work to arrive at the campsite Saturday afternoon. We travel back on Saturday Evening / Night with a crossing about 4 am on Sunday (two weeks later).
