Rescue Skills Training
You should have at least 6 months of paddling at the docks and come dressed to be in the water 5 -6 times during the evening.

We will look at:

  • Rescue of the various kayaks used in a general, mixed fleet paddle.
  • Discussion of possible emergencies and scenarios.

Bookings close 24 hours before the event.
You will be required to act both as a participant and rescuer, although we will take account of the prevailing conditions and experience of the candidate.   Please bring any tow lines, slings or other rescue gear that you may have.

You are required to wear a helmet during rescue practice. (Please bring your own or borrow one from the yellow box at the back of the compound).

Please read the Docks Risk Assessment carefully before paddling…

Docks Leaders and coordinators will follow the clubs` Standard Operating Procedures…….

This session is ideal for all but is especially useful for leaders (our volunteers).   If you are interested in volunteering for the club, contact website@liverpoolcanoeclub.co.uk with a brief outline of your paddling experience and how you want to help out – eg help with dock sessions, help with the admin of the club,
