Junior Anglesey Weekend 27th – 29th June 2025
The Junior club has arrived at Tyn Rhos. People are just settling in for a windy night. The campsite and location are ideal for our Junior club, which has had this camping and paddling weekend for 11 years now. Before 2014, families and juniors just attended the full club weekends. This is still a possibility with the two remaining Anglesey weekends this year. Click for more information…….

Saturday – Four Mile Bridge by Josh B

Saturday – Surfing at Porth Dafarch by Dominic B
We went surfing at Porth Dafarch.
My wetsuit was still cold from when we went kayaking a few hours before.
After that we went on the waves. They were really big, since the wind was STRONG.
Then I needed the toilet, again. When I came back from the toilet, my dads paddleboard had blown away halfway down the beach. It was really funny. We went back onto the sea and got a few more rides. Then I had a go on a sit on top but I found it really hard to control. The sea was full of jellyfish but luckily they did not sting.

Saturday – BBQ (with kite flying and Frisbee)

Saturday – Midnight Walk by Clara C

The midnight walk was really fun. The path was much more overgrown over the last year, which made it feel really wild. At points the plants were so high they went over my head. It was epic because we walked, and it was almost like a jungle. There were a few spiky plants, though. It was really cool in the dark and quite difficult to see where you were going. When we got to the big rocky outcrop looking over the moonlit sea, we all told 1 sentence of a ghost story and it was really good.

Saturday – Sea Paddle at Treaddur by Joshua and Emilia A

Saturday – Coasteering by Lola M

On Sunday, the 29th of June 2025, 15 members of the Liverpool Canoe Club went coasteering at Trearddur Bay (Anglesey) on the junior weekend.
Following our morning sea kayaking trip we started our journey along the coast of Trearddur Bay, with Keith leading the group we set off at about 11:30 am, climbing rocks and walking in knee deep water (we made sure everyone who came along was wearing a safety helmet, a buoyancy aid and a wetsuit etc.)
As we carried on scrambling along the rocks, the water became deeper and we started to swim, but not for long as we reached a ladder bolted to the cliff. We climbed up it and waited at the mast of a boat (flag pole) with a weathervane on top, where we had a rest and waited for everyone to climb up the ladder so we could set off again.

When carrying on along the rocks (to the left of the sea) we came across an island you had to swim across a small channel to reach, this was optional and when everyone had swam back across, we headed up a small hill which led us to a road taking us back to where we started at Trearddur Bay.
It was an excellent experience and we all had lots of fun.

Looks like an epic weekend. I could bring my big child next year.
