Kendal Junior Canoe Polo Tournament

Kendal Junior Canoe Polo Tournament
Saturday 24th January

On Saturday, 8 of our juniors made the journey to Kendal for a Junior Canoe Polo tournament. We were one of several clubs participating, with more than 30 juniors playing altogether.

Our juniors were all placed in different teams, with juniors from other clubs, and played at least 3 games each. The juniors enjoyed this, Clara said, ‘You played with people of the same skill set as you, you have the same abilities, so everyone was able to achieve in their teams.’

Team Light Blue won Group C, with awards being given out, including to Emilia for amazing hand rolls. The other clubs were surprised and impressed by these rolls because they were so good! Clara got a prize for having the most shots on target in this group.

‘I liked the spraydeck, it fit my kayak so I could do good rolls.’ Emilia

Team Dark Blue won Group B, with Finn picking up the prize for most goals saved. In Group A, the Red team won.

‘I thought that Saturday was loads of fun but also important for improvement. The coaches were really helpful, and it was fun to play with other players and watch how they played. My favourite part was definitely being on the winning team, though.’ Finn

I want to say a big thank you to all our juniors who attended the tournament this weekend. Their ongoing commitment to kayaking and improving their canoe polo skills is impressive. They have had lots of fun this weekend! Thank you to all the parents for driving and supporting the children. Thanks also go to all of the coaches from the other clubs who attended the day and to Hilary and Matt, who organised the event so well!
