Last Junior Docks Session Sept 2024

Today saw a great turnout with 17 paddlers for the last planned junior docks session. We had many regular paddlers and some new faces. 

Whilst the newer paddlers got used to their kayaks, the more experienced started with a relay race. Then we headed along the next dock, practising 360 turns on the way and stopping our kayaks. 

There was a long run of pontoons, so the more adventurous limboed under them before we paddled into the Albert Dock. 

After a game of tag in Dukes Dock, we headed back. It was hard work paddling back against the wind, which was very gusty by then. Everyone was supportive of each other and with plenty of stops, some towing and a lot of hard work, we made it back. 

Well done to everyone today in challenging, windy conditions! 

Thank you to Lily for the cake, a great end of Summer paddling celebration! Also to everyone who helped to move the kayaks, especially Carol and the van! 

We hope to put occasional Sunday junior docks sessions on over the next few months. We will email if these are planned. In the meantime, the junior club meets at the Broadgreen School pool on Tuesdays from 7.15 to 8.15.
