If you are a committed Sea Kayak paddler who would like to continue your journey into leading on the Sea, please contact website@liverpoolcanoeclub.co.uk with expressions of interest for this course.  You will then be sent details of how to sign up for the one-day course.  Nominal cost to cover Nick’s Fuel.

All participants should be happy to paddle in moderate sea conditions and to have an interest in completing the SKL award at a future date.

I anticipate that we can explore core SKL skills during a practical day afloat:

  • Planning/info gathering
  • Group management afloat
  • Problem avoidance/solving
  • Practical navigation

I’ll begin and end the day with a shore-based discussion, Q&A session, and supporting theory/principles. I’m happy to select a venue on Anglesey, the north Wales mainland coast (e.g. Llandudno), or the Menai Strait, according to the weather forecast.

We can confirm a training venue during the days preceding the course.

You should also consider signing up for the demo sea kayak session at the docks with Nick Cunliffe and Pete Barrs.   Lots of advice and informal tips from Nick during the session, and a chance to try the latest sea kayaks.
