White Water Easter Day 3, Sunday 20th by Stuart Toulson
After some very mixed, wet and cold weather. Popping our heads outside the tents this morning, brought a pleasing surprise. The sun was out!!
After a leisurely breakfast and checking the water levels, we decided to run the Spean Gorge.
This worked well for us as the get in was only 15 minutes away, also James was leaving for home after the paddle.
With the scuttle completed four paddlers set off into the gorge, after a low level start we got into the gorge section.
At fairy steps we met the same group from York we had seen yesterday on the Gary, they were getting instructions from a coach they had hired in.
We all had smooth trouble trouble-free runs after setting safety.

After portaging headbanger and the constriction, we wound further into the gorge.
We negotiated a large tree on a blind bend, with Kurt being back flipped on a nasty slot drop.
The fun was soon over, and the flow slowed, and the river opened as we reached the get-out.
James had managed the whole trip up from the northeast, using his fully electric car.
He is also planning to use it for his trip to the French Alps this summer.
