Hilbre Island Paddle 2nd Nov 2024
With high pressure set for the weekend emails went out asking for paddlers to join for either the Saturday or Sunday paddles on the sea. The tides were right for an early morning dart out to Hilbre from West Kirby. Six club members met up at the slipway and waited for the tide to reach the tarmac.
It was an enjoyable paddle out with a chance to catch up as we paddled. Miles was disappointed to find it so calm as we rounded the northern end of the island. We stopped for a coffee and elevenses on the beach before heading back inside middle and little eye. We were careful to give the flock of waders a wide berth so as to not accidentally put them to the wing while they were starting to build fat for the winter.
