John Lamb – An Inspiration To Everyone He Met

I am terribly sad to let you know that Junior Club member John Lamb left us yesterday. John had faced many health issues in the last 2 or 3 years and underwent treatment earlier this year to try to halt the tumour, but sadly, this didn’t work. John spent his last month at home in the care and comfort of his family. John was just 15.

Before his illness, John and his family were regular paddlers at Junior Club. John was a keen and passionate paddler. John was always chatty, engaging and entertaining. Working with him on rolling technique in the pool, he was determined to improve; he would try, listen carefully to feedback, and then try again and again until he mastered the technique. He brought positivity and humour wherever he went. John led a full and busy life; as well as Kayaking, he was a passionate Climber and a Scout.

I think John really understood that life is what you make of it, and he put his all into the short time he had. John and his family didn’t just participate in the Junior club; they contributed to it. I think everyone’s days were made a bit better when John was around. He will be sorely missed by everyone at Junior Club.

Our hearts go out to John’s family, Ian and Lily and his brother Aiden. We hope you can remember the love of life, enthusiasm and determination that John always showed. Hold on to John’s spirit to give you the strength to keep on keeping on.

Richard.

Some more words from other Junior Club Leaders should be shared here –
