Winter Evening Paddle 28.10.25 by Sue Lowndes

Tuesday’s weather started a little precarious with branches bending furiously in the garden and the neighbour’s ‘ghost’ flying past at speed!  Was Colin really going to make me paddle in this?  It was definitely a Beaufort 4/5, and I was definitely not feeling it.

Watching the weather with a keen eye and knowing that others were booked on the paddle, we left the comfort of home and headed over.  Looking across the water from the compound, the winds had indeed died down and virtually ceased.  Boats out and a gentle paddle towards Albert to see what we could see.

We’d forgotten that the light festival was on, so it was a surprise to hear people out and about to see the River of Light (I had also forgotten that it was also half-term).   The water was calm, the air was full of excitement, and the paddle was awesome!  The winter evening paddles continue on Tuesday evenings.  See you on the water!
