Junior Club Trip from Eccelstone Ferry to Chester
What better way to spend a chilly November Sunday than on the river with friends? The Junior Club took to the water from Eccleston to Chester for a fun-filled paddle full of laughter, splashes, and the occasional “oops!” moment.
The team set off in fine spirits, wrapped up in enough layers to survive the Arctic. Spirits were high as they practised their steering, perfected their teamwork, and tried (with varying success) to avoid the overhanging branches.

Freija’s determination to paddle in a straight line impressed everyone, while Finn discovered that “just a little wave” can somehow fill a whole boat. Belle and Clara provided a running commentary worthy of a sports broadcast, and Joshua and Marcus showed off some impressive power strokes that kept the group moving steadily downstream.
As they glided past fields, bridges, and curious ducks, the juniors kept up a steady rhythm – part paddling, part giggling. The trip ended in Chester with tired arms but big smiles, and more than a few plans already forming for the next adventure.
Hot chocolate, biscuits, and proud faces rounded off a perfect junior day out on the water. Great paddling, everyone – you did the club proud! 🚣♂️☕🎉
