Paddle UK have amended the recent article about paddling around the Liverpool Docks
Following intervention from Canal and Rivers Trust, Paddle UK have amended the recent article about paddling around the Liverpool Docks and has removed all mention of free access at Coburg Slip and that a Canal Licence allows you to paddle on the Docks.
Places to paddle: Liverpool’s historic docks on the Paddle UK Site….
Andy Gouldie (Harbour Master) is looking at putting up new signs at Coburg Dock saying that paddling is only allowed with a licence issued by the Harbour Master.
The Canal and Rivers licence allows access to 1000s of miles of Canals and Inland Waterways, but NOT the three docks (London, Gloucester and Liverpool) that they control. Here, licences are only given by the Harbour Masters and normally only for organised events and groups.

Or by paying a launching fee at the watersports centre.
