LCC Junior Polo Team Makes a Splash in Kendal!

5 LCC Junior Polo players made the trip up to Kendal Swimming Pool to play in their first tournament, their first time playing as a team.

Playing against 5 other junior teams, with each named after their BA colour, LCC or ‘Black and Teal’ improved noticeably every game we played.

We picked up just a point overall from a draw in our third game, but in the last two games against teams that came first and third, we lost by only one goal, and for much of those games, a draw or a win for us seemed a likely outcome. So real progress over the afternoon, and well done to our players for showing such determination.

Joshua Hale was our star scorer. He’d been out of school only yesterday, and it was great to see him warm up and start to play like he could. Finn was a star in goalkeeping, saving us in some of the games with great saves.

Bea and Clara played in two extra girls’ team matches, winning the second one 4 –1.

Team chats after each game were assisted by Poppy and Lucas, and chocolates and prizes were handed out at the end by Hilary, the event organiser from Penrith Club.

A great day out for all, and hopefully the start of more regular events for Junior Polo. Thanks to all the players and parents for their support.
