The little boat group parked at the old ATS car garage, ready to paddle across the water to Stanley embankment.

When we got there, it was quite big. It’s normally better to get there as the wave builds, but we didn’t sort ourselves out in time.

After pulling up our big girl pants, we were soon having a dabble on the wave. There was 2 other paddlers from the Wirral and Manchester, who were pulling some great spins and flips.

The boils behind the wave were huge, but soon died off.

We waited until the wave dropped so we could paddle through the tunnel and back to the car.
