Autumn Colours Coniston

Autumn Colours Coniston by Kevin C

Only 3 of us went out onto Coniston, to enjoy the Autumn colours. We changed our plan, and decided to launch from the Bluebird cafe . The weather was perfect. Bright sunshine and almost no wind. After discussing our plan, we set off along the west side of Coniston, heading south.

We took our time, to take in the scenery and take a few photos along the way. Paddling along gently and admiring the specacular range of autumn colours. We headed south for a couple of hours, then decided to stop and have a short break, to stretch our legs and have a snack. As we were ready to resume, we could see a bank of mist had formed at the south end of the lake. Realising, we wouldnt get to see much at the south end, we turned around and headed back. The wind had picked up too and it was getting a little chilly.

More photos and enjoying the paddle, we arrived back at the Bluebird cafe. After loading our kayaks up, and getting changed, we adjourned to the cafe, for the planned coffe and cake. Phil opted for a cheese scone ……which he regretted  Myself and Suart rightly chose from the cake offering and thoroughly enjoyed ours. Once satisfied, we headed off on our way

Regards.
