Anglesey 1 Porth Dafarch to White Arch.  Saturday 16 May 2026.

Porth Dafarch to White Arch.  Saturday 16 May 2026.

A small group headed over to Porth Dafarch for a relaxed but enjoyable sea kayaking trip along the beautiful west coast of Anglesey.

Conditions were kind to us, with a south-westerly Force 3–4 providing enough wind and movement to make things interesting without being too demanding. After getting on the water at Porth Dafarch, we made our way south along the rugged coastline, taking time to enjoy the impressive cliffs, rocky outcrops and clear water along this stretch of coast.

One of the highlights of the trip was exploring a small secret cove tucked away beneath the cliffs. With calm water inside and steep rock walls surrounding us, it felt like a hidden corner of the island that many people never get to see from land.

We continued on towards the impressive White Arch, where there was plenty of opportunity to paddle through and around the rock features while practising boat control in the swell and rebound. The conditions gave everyone a good chance to work on positioning and confidence around moving water.

After spending time around White Arch, we turned back along the coast towards Trearddur Bay, enjoying following seas and some fun surf on the way in.

The White Arch (Bwa Gwyn) is a dramatic, naturally eroded sea arch carved out of white quartzitic rocks on the rugged Rhoscolyn coastline of Anglesey, Wales.

A great day on the water with good company, enjoyable conditions and some classic Anglesey scenery.
