Today has been one of the best whitewater trips that I have been on! It was well coached but there was still time for your own fun in the stoppers. The groups were well balanced and the coaches made sure that everyone was comfortable. At the start we went over what to do on the river (including important hand signals) and we practised honing some basic skills. Throughout the paddle we were helped and guided but we could still choose our own lines.
When we got to one of the big rapids me and John went down it at intervals, getting in and out of stoppers trying not to fall in. The scenery was stunning and it was quite therapeutic to just drift past the Welsh countryside at certain points.
