2026 05 11 Progression to Open Canoe

The first of the regular Monday night Open Canoe Paddles in the Docks was well attended last night. We had a combination of new paddlers and the more experienced. It was good to see some pair up to make a tandem crew, while others paddled solo despite the stiff breeze.

The first of the regular Monday night Open Canoe Paddles in the Docks was well attended last night.

We went over some basic strokes and then paddled up to “seal launch city”.

On the return leg, we made use of the obstacles around the unused swim course and bridge at the watersports centre. Hopefully, if we develop the skills in the docks, we will be able to attend the two Progression to Open Canoe Trips, and even though I do not have roof bars, I will be able to book a place on the club’s trailer (AKA Ruth and Mike’s Trailer)
