Jon Young (1964 -2025) Rest in Peace

It is with heavy hearts that we share the sad news from School Lane: our dear friend Jon Young went to heaven this morning at the age of 60. Jon had been diagnosed with lung cancer last year and experienced a rapid decline in the past three weeks.

Jon was a beloved member of the Liverpool Canoe Club, known affectionately as Driver Number 3. His adventurous spirit led him on unforgettable trips to the Alps and weekends in Anglesey, where he created lasting memories with his fellow paddlers.

Jon’s passion for canoeing and his warm, friendly nature touched the lives of many. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his legacy will live on in the stories and memories shared by his friends and family.

May Jon rest in peace, and may his loved ones find solace in the cherished moments they spent together.
