Junior Whitewater Development and Holiday Week – France 2026 Day 06 by Lydia B

What an incredible week! Every one of the young paddlers challenged themselves, learnt new skills and grew in confidence. Here are just a few of their fantastic achievements:
Josh – Ran the rapids several times, successfully navigated bends and became much more confident in his own kayak.
Emelia – Built her confidence on the water throughout the week and showed great determination and resilience.
Belle – Perfected her roll and overcame challenges, and built confidence throughout the week through her determination and perseverance.
Lola – Took on the challenge of hydrospeed. Grew in confidence, faced her fears and overcame challenges throughout the week.
Clara – Overcame her nerves and felt really confident on the river. She also gave excellent tuition and encouragement to some of the less confident adults, helping them to build their confidence too!
Jack – Developed greater control of his kayak and confidently practised capsize and spray deck exits.
Lottie – Paddled down a river, learnt how to do the starfish float while wearing her buoyancy aid, and loved spotting fish swimming beneath her.

We are incredibly proud of every young person for their courage, determination, teamwork and willingness to step outside their comfort zone. What an amazing week of adventure and achievement!
A huge thank you to Keith for making this fantastic event happen and giving our juniors such a unique and unforgettable experience. His hard work and dedication made an incredible week possible.
We’d also like to say a massive thank you to Keith, Amy, Rich and John for being the most amazing instructors. Your encouragement, expertise and enthusiasm inspired every paddler ( junior & adult!) to push themselves, build confidence and achieve things they never thought possible.
