Maintenance Day at the Compound Saturday 26th April
It was great to see so many members volunteer and come down to tidy, re-number and generally help out. The 20 or so members certainly made light work of going through every boat to check it over and put it back on the racks. We have added numerous new boats over the past few weeks and now see large fleets including 0 open boats, 10 Plastic SUPS, 14 plastic Sea Kayaks, 13 canoe polo kayaks and lots of General Purpose, junior and WW boats.
Many thanks to Kai Hoettges, Zoe Maynard, Norman Cook, Mike Bailey, Elena Bejenaru, Kevin Corcoran, Klaire Costello, Andrew Quinn, Dominic Fahey, Matthew Pegram, Adya Misra, Andrew Benyon, Ian Bell, Keith Steer, Andrew Bond and others who just turned up on the day to lend a hand.
We have removed most of the vegetation, any rubbish, leftover clothes, etc. All boats on the rack now have LCC numbers. A small team also reconfigured the racking so that SUPS and SOT can be stored vertically. All Sea kayaks go on the second row, with wider boats on the bottom row. Only junior club boats (narrow) go on the bottom row of the right-hand side.
The weather is looking excellent for tomorrow and it would be great to get everyone out on the water splashing around for the Club Paddlefest. Just register here https://liverpoolcanoeclub.co.uk/events-2/?event=22823 Friends and guests are welcome (but you MUST look after them and know their emergency contact details).
